With over 10 years experience in preventive medicine, Dr. Kharbat attended a 4 year DO Medical School and a 3 year MD Family Practice Residency. She focuses on enabling the patient's body to heal at its own pace in its own time by combining appropriate medical treatments, medications when needed, and a lifestyle of healthy diet and regular exercise.

DO’s (Osteopathic) and MD’s (Allopathic) are both fully licensed medical physicians who are authorized to prescribe medication and perform surgery. While attending their own medical schools, DO’s are responsible for the same academic curriculum as their MD colleagues. DO’s must also receive in excess of 500 hours in the study of the body's musculoskeletal system in medical school. Dr. Kharbat diagnoses and treats patients with Western medicine, both Allopathic and Osteopathic, in conjunction with Medical Acupuncture and Functional Medicine offering patients the best of each.

Dr. Kharbat is Board Certified in Family Medicine, trained in Functional Medicine through The Institute for Functional Medicine, and Board Certified in Medical Acupuncture.

To become eligible for Board Certification in Medical Acupuncture, one must graduate from medical school, complete a residency in one's specialty, and then receive at least 300 additional hours of Medical Acupuncture education approved by the American Board of Medical Acupuncture (ABMA). After training, a minimum of 2 years of Medical Acupuncture clinical experience and an acupuncture case history of not less than 500 medical acupuncture treatments are required before being allowed to take the Board Exam.

Dr. Kharbat's experience greatly exceeds the requirements for Board Certification with training in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French, and Neuro-Acupuncture (Craig-PENS) through the UCLA/STANFORD HELMS MEDICAL INSTITUTE and more than 10,000 medical acupuncture treatments performed.
